Visa USA Takes Control of "What's My Score" Consumer Awareness Program, Expands Financial Education Campaign to College Students

Responsible Credit Partnership Spins Off Its Innovative Consumer Awareness Program to Visa

San Francisco, CA - January 25, 2007 - As part of an ongoing effort to help college students understand their FICO credit scores and take control of their financial futures, Visa USA announced today the acquisition of What's My Score, a leading higher education consumer awareness program. Previously under the management of the Responsible Credit Partnership (RCP), What's My Score resources will become an integral part of Visa's decade-long financial literacy initiative.

"What's My Score has developed innovative approaches for educating college students on responsible money management," said Jason Alderman, director of Visa USA's financial education programs. "We were looking for a compelling, comprehensive resource to help enhance our robust financial education efforts with college students and young adults, and we were honored to be asked by the Responsible Credit Partnership to take over What's My Score."

RCP, which joined The Center for Financial Services Innovation (CFSI) on January 1, 2007, will continue its work with Visa and other significant stakeholders in the credit card sector to improve responsible use of credit cards on behalf of "new to credit" consumers. As part of its reorganization, it sought new management for What's My Score, and identified Visa as the best choice, with its deep distribution opportunities and long-standing commitment to helping consumers work with the financial services industry.

In addition to the acquisition of certain intellectual property, Visa will expand its role on CFSI's Responsible Credit Roundtable, which supports credit card issuers working to responsibly and profitably address both short- and long-term needs of new to credit consumers. Kimberly Gartner, formerly RCP's Director, has joined CFSI as Associate Director where she will oversee the Responsible Credit Roundtable as part of her expanded portfolio of responsibilities. She added, "We look forward to working with Visa to help consumers manage credit successfully and expand opportunities for both issuers and customers. We are confident that Visa's stewardship of What's My Score will increase its reach and effectiveness on college campuses across the nation. As an industry leader, its participation in the Responsible Credit Roundtable offers tremendous benefits to CFSI as it broadens its credit card programs and relationships."

What's My Score, (www.WhatsMyScore.org), was originally developed by the Responsible Credit Partnership when it was a special project of The Saint Paul Foundation. Educational content and students' access to FICO scores are provided by Fair Isaac Corporation which developed the credit score. CFSI retains rights to distribute What's My Score educational materials, and What's My Score results will continue to be shared as part of CFSI's Responsible Credit Roundtable. What's My Score guides consumers through the ABC's of a FICO credit score, from factors that can lower a score to ways on improving it. It also contains other helpful credit score facts and tips. Visa and Fair Isaac plan a robust nationwide outreach campaign for What's My Score, with the goal of bringing the program to colleges across America.

In addition to What's My Score, Visa also runs the award-winning Practical Money Skills for Life program, a free, multilingual educational resource complete with home, school and at work financial lesson plans. Practical Money Skills for Life is aimed primarily at teachers and students in elementary through high school, as well adult consumers. The acquisition of What's My Score allows Visa to dramatically expand the reach of the company's financial education efforts to the nation's 17.5 million college students.
